Big Lottery Fund supports new project ‘Building Stronger Communities’

We are pleased to announce that Communities Inc has been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities Programme, of just over £382,000 over three years. The Building Stronger Communities project seeks to create opportunities for diverse communities to come together tackle the lack of cohesion and integration where it exists. It builds on two pilot projects Communities Inc have done, one which improved access to hate crime reporting and another which supported faith organisations to foster integration and cohesion within diverse communities.  We will be organising a wide range of activities and initiatives in Nottingham City and Bassetlaw as part of the project.  This will include training and workshops on improving cohesion, establishing local networks to engage local communities and for sharing information, developing a wide range of resources and supporting diverse cultural and community events.   Our partners, Victim Support will be offering specific support to victims of hate crime and working more closely with local organisations to ensure greater accessibility.
