Walk the Talk is a series of themed, facilitated walks exploring topical social issues while enjoying the landscape and wildlife. Our group meets on a monthly basis, and consists of members of general public as well as representatives from local agencies and community organisations. Walk the Talk is a great opportunity to discuss current social issues and learn about the work being done in Nottingham while improving your wellbeing through moderate activity.
Our topic for the 27th of September is BME health. We will be joined by a variety of medical and fitness experts to discuss issues such as sickle cell disease, prostate cancer, diabetes, or mental health and how those impact members of minority communities. The walk will take place at Colwick Country Park.
Facilitators will be on hand to encourage discussions and at the end of the walk will provide you with refreshments, and record key points discussed during the walk.
Meeting point: Colwick Racecourse Park & Ride, NG2 4BG. We will leave for the walk at 12:10, so please arrive early.
Please wear sensible footwear and clothing.
