Narrow Boat, Broad Conversations: Nottingham United Against Hate

In Mid-April, we were back with Megan and Tinks for a Community Dialogue focused on supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Nottingham.

This Dialogue brought together organisations from across the City to discuss how Nottingham can stand up to hate against asylum seekers and refugees in light of recent incidents, such as the protest against asylum seekers being housed in Mansfield.

During the Dialogue, we coordinated a response to the rise of far-right hate in Nottingham and beyond and worked on a plan to build stronger relationships and networks within our City.

We were joined on the trip by Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Caroline Henry, in addition to representatives from the following organisations:

  • Nottingham City of Sanctuary
  • Nottingham City Council
  • Nottingham Stand up to Racism
  • Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire

Thanks to everyone who joined us for this important discussion.
