One year with Communities Inc: A blog by Lauren

It’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed since I started my journey with Communities Inc as their Communications Coordinator. Time flies when you’re having fun!

As I celebrate my one-year anniversary, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the journey so far and express my gratitude for being part of the Communities Inc team and the opportunities, new experiences, and relationships I’ve gained.

From Wales to the Lake District, I’ve been lucky to be able to travel with work to spread the message that we all have a part to play in ending discrimination, hate and prejudice through our Stand by Me and Stand by Her programmes.

Highlights of the past year include our National Bystander Awareness Day event at Parliament with MPs, and meeting with senior officers at Scotland Yard to discuss ending misogyny in the Met Police.

At Communities Inc, the work we do matters and being part of a team that shares a common purpose to stop hate has been incredibly rewarding. To my fellow team members, thank you for making this past year enjoyable. Your support, encouragement, and passion (and sense of humour!) make the job a pleasure.

As I look ahead to the future with Communities Inc, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. The organisation’s commitment to tackling hate and prejudice and its focus on making a positive impact in communities that are so often sidelined are why I am proud to be a part of this team.

In conclusion, my one-year anniversary at Communities Inc is not just a milestone; it’s a celebration of a jampacked year filled with purpose. I’m grateful for the past year and look forward to the adventures and challenges that the future will bring.

Cheers to Communities Inc and here’s to another year of making a difference!
