FREE screening of 9 to 5 as part of International Women’s Day – 10th March

In the week of International Women’s Day, Communities Inc & Nottingham Contemporary are putting on a FREE film showing of 9 to 5. Popcorn and non-alcoholic refreshments included.

Throwback time! A notorious, oppressive boss mistreats female staff, prompting three colleagues to devise comical plans to overthrow him. Exhausted by his abusive behavior, they assume control of his department, leading to increased productivity after a successful overthrow.

As this film also falls on Mother’s Day, we would love for you to bring family members along to reflect on attitudes towards women in the workplace through the years.

We’re also putting together a playlist for the event that celebrates women’s voices in song – please add your suggestions of glorious voices that speak to, celebrate and platform women!

This film is PG rated.

*Nottingham Contemporary art gallery is a big green and gold building on the corner of Weekday Cross and High Pavement in the Lace Market area of Nottingham City. The venue is next door to Pitcher and Piano (the bar that was a church). Film screening will be held on the lower floor in the Space.
