Work Place Learning and BME Capacity Building Project

Palmer Associates and Communities Inc have been contracted by ENABLE to support workplace learning in businesses/organisations in the East Midlands (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire.

ENABLE has secured funds to provide free training to help employees aged 19 or over with below level 2 qualifications to improve their employment potential through workplace learning. Staff must also be working more than 8 hours per week and reside or work in the East Midlands.

The aim of the learning is to increase the contribution the employee makes to the success of the business/ organisation and to improve their employment prospects with a view for them to progress by :

  •         Moving from temporary to permanent employment.
  •         Taking on new responsibilities  and gaining promotion;
  •         Increasing hours of work part time to full time;
  •         Progressing into an apprenticeship;

BME Capacity Building Project 

Communities inc and Palmer and Associates have also been contracted by ENABLE to support the Capacity Building Needs of nine BME voluntary sector organisations. The organisations being supported vary in size but are all involved in the delivery of learning/ training within the communities they serve. The support provided consists of one-to-one advice, sign posting and networking through the BME Learning Network.
