Youth Assembly
Perspective through your eyes
Helping young people connect their lived experience to wider systems of power, responsibility, and community.
Project Highlight
The Youth Assembly is an ongoing programme for young people. At its core, the Youth Assembly is about community. What it means. Who it includes. Who gets left out? And who decides?
We delivered the pilot as a partnership with Nottingham College. It brings young people together to explore real social issues, build civic confidence, and understand how decisions about communities are actually made.

Through facilitated sessions, young people are supported to explore how social, political, and cultural issues show up in their everyday lives, and how collective decision-making can shape safer, fairer cities. These conversations are grounded in lived experience, not lectures. Students are encouraged to question, challenge, and reflect, while learning how to disagree respectfully and listen actively.

“Community sits at the heart of this work. We wanted students to reflect on what community means to them, who feels safe within it, and who does not. These conversations helped bridge personal experience with wider social responsibility, encouraging empathy alongside accountability.”
